March 2019 Newsletter

Happy March!!  

The sun is back a bit more every day, the earliest flowers are sprouting, and we are feeling that Spring Fever! ESC is gearing up for the new season as winter starts to fade. The whole store is decked out in bright, spring fabrics. There are tons of new samples in the making. Stop in to see them! The United Way Quilt Block Challenge is in full swing and we have new quilting classes with Margy starting this month. Be sure to keep April 16th on your calendar: Viking Educator Christine Harlan will be in. As alway, please let us know what sort of classes and events you'd like to see. 

Sue and Kathryn are both back from their trips, and are heading out to Sewfest 2019 next week. They'll be learning new tricks and techniques, and will bring that knowledge and inspiration back to us! 

March is National Quilting Month! Stop by and see all of the gadgets, gizmos, and brand new fabrics that will make your quilting projects easy and fun!

West Virginia Memories 

Block of the Month

Want to quilt more? We're starting a new block of the month class! Margy Burns will be leading the class through "West Virginia Memories," a quilt designed by Fran Kordek. Stop by the store to see the whole quilt. This is perfect for graduates of our Begin to Quilt class or anyone who wants to learn new quilt squares. Stack and Whack Quilt Class

If you've ever been curious about Stack and Whack Quilting, now is the time to learn more! Margy Burns will teach this kaleidoscopic technique. Get started in class and use your new skills to finish a quilt at home! 

United Way Quilt Kits Are In!!

Stop by and pick up on of our United Way Challenge kits! Make a block for our United Way quilt in one of three categories: Applique, Pieced, or Embroidery. Blocks will be displayed for voting from March 20th - April 5th. The top three blocks in each category will get an ESC gift card!
