October Newsletter

HAPPY OCTOBER!!

We're gearing up for Forest Festival and enjoying the scarecrows set up all across our downtown. Sue, Kathryn, and Marisa are on their way to the Viking Convention in New Orleans! They'll see great new products and come home with many fun new projects and class ideas.

The rest of us are holding down the fort at ESC, helping others prepare for their holiday gifts (it'll be here before you know it!) and Autumn projects. Stop in and see us! We have so many beautiful leafy colors out and about. (Take our Color Theory class to learn more about your favorites!) And if you're here during Festival week, check out our windows...They're full of last year's Festival regalia!

Accuquilt Event!

Jeannie Miller joined the AccuQuilt family as a national educator in 2017. She has used and sold AccuQuilt products at quilt shows and retreats since 2008. Sewing was a big part of her childhood. As soon as she was old enough to operate the sewing machine solo, she began her lifelong hobbies of sewing, embroidering, and quilting. Jeannie is a retired media specialist teacher with 35 years experience who enjoys teaching and sharing her passion for all things sewing. She is an active member of several quilting guilds and is the chapter chair of the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Sewing Sew-ciety.

Begin To Sew

Get ready for gift giving and winter projects in this 4-Week course with Kathryn! Begin To Sew teaches you the basics of using a sewing machine. You'll leave the class with sewing know-how and confidence to start projects at home. You'll also leave with a pillowcase, a table runner, and a tote bag...all projects designed to teach you a variety of beginning sewing techniques!

Color Theory

Emily will be teaching Color Theory on the 20th! Come in and learn more about colors, shades, hues, tones, and how all of that applies to quilting. Bring your tricky colors and some fabric scraps to share. We'll be creating our own color wheel from fabric and magazines, and then using them to make great color combos from the fabric in the store!

Scarecrows!

We're always excited for the scarecrows to go up across downtown, but this year, we are extra proud of our scarecrow creations! Stop by the store and check out Fabrica, Boltano, and the whole gang of scarecrows around downtown Elkins.
