September Newsletter
HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!
We're already wearing sweaters in the evening! It's an early start to Autumn, but we'll take it. Kids are back in school, and we've been taking the opportunity to learn some new things, too. We're looking forward to two days of education with Sewing Professional Pam Damour this month, and an Accuquilt Education event in October! Around town, we're gearing up for the Downtown Scarecrow Festival. Stop by to get some scarecrow making supplies or to get a head-start on Halloween costumes. We also have a whole range of cozy fabrics available for Autumn blankets and clothing. (We're eyeballing plaid flannels, Collegiate prints, and anything in warm tones!) It's a great time to take home a new sewing machine for all of your fall craft and sewing projects, and great savings are available now. Take a peak at our class listings below, check out our August Scrapbook, and as always, stop in and say hi to see our newest samples, fabrics, and notions!
Pam Damour
As a sewing professional Pam Damour is
continuously morphing and changing the way we sew. Her innovations in the
sewing room help you to create in a more efficient and fun way. Join Pam to see
what’s new in her sewing repertoire, as she shares samples and sewing secrets
in techniques, quilting, serging, embroidery and more! Pam’s enthusiasm and knowledge are second
only to her sense of humor. Learn how to make designer trims, easy zipper
insertions and flawless finishes! A Certified Zentangle Teacher, Pam will show
you how she’s incorporated Zentangle into many of her sewing and quilting
projects. See all the projects from Pam’s book, Hold Everything. You’ll also be the first to see a sneak
preview of her latest book, Power Serge!
The all-day trunk show/lecture/demonstration will start your head
spinning with inspiration that you’ll use for years to come, then join us for an
all-day hands-on workshop as she guides you through her techniques to make a
perfect bag!
Some Sneak Peaks of Pam's Purse Samples!
(Stop into the store to look at all of them!)
BEGINNING QUILTING
Get ready for gift giving and winter projects in this 4-Week course! Beginning Quilting will teach you all of the basics of quilting making: You'll learn piecing, appliqué, machine and hand quilting, and binding! A must for any beginning quilter, this class will leave you feeling confident enough to make your own quilt. Through the course, you'll work on a wallhanging to take home with you. Call us at 304-636-9480 for more details or to sign up for this class.
FALLING LEAVES WALLHANGING
Margy Burns is leading a workshop on Falling Leaves quilt blocks this month. Come out on the 22nd to learn this design (perfect for Autumn!), and leave with a wallhanging. Be-leaf us, you won't want to miss it! Call us at 304-636-9480 for more details or to sign up for this class.
THANKS, NEVADA!!
We said goodbye to our summer intern Nevada in early August. She's heading back to Shepherd University for fall semester, and we'll miss her around the store. Nevada started this quilt when she started working at ESC, and she finished it on her last day. We thought that was pretty fitting!
